PIER Innovation Lunch Talk on June 4, 2025!
PIER is pleased to announce its next PIER Innovation Lunch Talk "Alpaca's Nanobodies as Biotechnological Solutions: A Journey from Latin America to Hamburg Bahrenfeld" taking place at the CFEL (bldg. 99), seminar room I, on 4 June 2025, 12:00 - 13:30.
Our speaker this time is Dr. Alejandro Rojas, co-founder and scientific director of Berking Biotechnology, a life science startup based at the Techhub Hamburg (operated by Start-up Labs Hamburg).
Alejandro will talk about his entrepreneurial journey with the startup Berking Biotechnology which uses antibodies produced by alpacas to fight diseases ranging from Covid to cancer. Originally founded in Alejandro's home country Chile, Berking Biotechnology recently moved to Hamburg to take advantage of local pharmaceutical capabilities and apply their technology against tumors using radioactive antibodies.
After the talk, we'll be pleased to welcome you to the CFEL foyer to an informal get-together with free refreshments and snacks where you will have the chance for further discussion and networking with like-minded fellow researchers.
